What are the republicans doing to Congress?
What may I ask is the idea here? Do republicans truly believe changing some of the checks and balances will be helpful overall, or just to the people in power?
2 issues: filibustering rules, and commitee hearings on Bolton
a scarier issue: IS the right planning on taking over all judicial appointments? Will they appoint wierdo right-wing judges?

2 albums I am enjoying
The following records are relatively recent and I rate them as well worth listening to:
- The Dana Owens Album by Queen Latifah - The Queen, who was always an inclusive and accessible rap artist, shows off her singing chops on this album titled after her real name. Amazing cover of California Dreamin' - the first time I ever heard the song and really liked it; A great duet with Al Green on Simply Beautiful; The Same Love That Made Me Laugh - incredibly good, made meturn it up; Moody's Mood for Love - another great sing; and Mercy, Mercy, Mercy - I would go to church if the choir sounded this good!
- American Idiot by Green Day - This album rocks! I have not yet gotten sick of any of the songs, although a few are constantly played on the local radio stations and the media saturation is quite high. as far as I can tell, the songs sound good live. The lyrics are thought-provoking and it is nice to see a post-punk revival band offer songs about more than the nihilistic lives they feel they are living. Favorities include Jesus of Suburbia and Holiday, also Are We the Waiting. Ignore the Grammy award, ignre the guest appearances on every possible tv show and just rock out.
10+ weeks of silence
You are probably wondering how I can continue to jot out notes after 10 weeks of silence. Why don't I hang my head in shame and just give up? Why don't I accept that there is noone reading this site, if there ever was?
